Structured. Clear. Purposeful.
Design isn't decoration. It's a system for communicating something clearly.
I believe content and goals should guide the design process. Whether I'm building a publication, visual identity, campaign system, presentation, website, or production framework, the work starts by understanding what needs to be communicated before deciding how it should look or work.
Good design isn't magic. It's just what happens when someone actually thinks before diving in.
How I work
1. Discovery & Alignment
Ask questions. Listen carefully. Figure out what's needed before jumping into design.
2. Research & Structure
Explore ideas, collect references, and go down a Pinterest rabbit hole (don't worry, this part isn't billable).
3. Concept Development
Share early. Ask questions. Get feedback. Iterate a lot. The first design is usually ugly, and that's part of the process.
4. Refinement & Delivery
Tighten everything, sweat the details, and make sure it holds up before it goes out the door.
AI & Exploration
AI is part of how I think, explore, and prototype. I use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Flora, and Figma Make to pressure test ideas, explore directions quickly, and experiment before committing to anything.
It doesn't replace the judgment, it just means I can get to the interesting part faster. The craft and the decisions are still very much mine.
Beyond Design
Photography gives me space to slow down and pay attention to composition, contrast, atmosphere, and details that often influence how I approach visual work.
Everything else is a mix of two kids, hiding in the bathroom eating their snacks because I bought them, NBA basketball, tennis, and rewatching Friends for the 13,434th time while my husband questions how I'm still laughing. He doesn't get it.
